Take these Broken wings
Damaged, bruised, and dirty
Piece them back together with love and hope
Will he save me?
Or will he pull me under?
My book/movie/music reviews, rantings about life, my obsessions and everything else?
Take these Broken wings
Damaged, bruised, and dirty
Piece them back together with love and hope
Will he save me?
Or will he pull me under?

I am very glad to see 2009 come to an end.
I am on my winter break from college, and in the middle of a big fight/breakup (I'll explain).
Well. As you can see, one of my Resolutions, is to start blogging again!
I miss having some form of a creative outlet.
Anyways, As I was saying. I am in the middle of a huge fight/breakup with my current boyfriend of a little over two months. I realize that it isn't a long time, but I have a bad habit of attaching myself to people and falling for them rather quickly.
The fight really should not have been that big of a deal. I had not seen my boyfriend in a little over a week due to my being busy with finals, so I was very excited that he had planned a date night for us to go to the movies and out to dinner.
So, it is an hour before he is going to pick me up, I am all dressed up, and he texts me. what does he do? He cancels plans with me. which would not have been a problem... If this wasn't happening all the time lately. So I ask him calmly, "why is this happening all the time now?", and what happens? He throws a childlike fit, which i do not understand one bit, and he gets into a huge fight where he decides that he is no longer sure if he wants to be with me, and we get a little heated and start pointing out eachothers flaws and whatnot, so he tells me, give me some time and I'll talk to you about this in a few hours. After all this, He has not spoken to me for three days. He won't get ahold of me to tell me its over, or if were together, not one word. So after three days of trying to get ahold of him, I refuse to mope anymore, I am going on with my life, and I'm not going to try to get ahold of him anymore, He can talk to me when he decides to stop acting like a child, but in the meantime, I'm going to have fun and go on with my life, I can't mope and wait for him.
anyways. on with the resolutions!
1. Become more independent
2. Learn how to cook. ( all I can make is cookies and instant food!)
3. Take more pride in myself and my appearance.
4. Be more understanding towards the people I care about, and try not to start arguments with them.
5. Get back into my music.
6. Get out and do more, instead of always being a bum.
7. Find a new hobby.
8. Pass all of my college classes this semester/ maybe start my nursing classes in the fall.
9. Mail in for my temporary license and take my state boards for my cosmetology lisense.
10. Start saving money for a car.
What are your resolutions?

So I have decided, that as of this coming Saturday, this blog will become strictly for my book reviews only. (Not that I have been doing those a lot lately, but I'll work on it!)
BUT... I have started a new blog called Confessions Of A College Freshman.
Starting this Saturday, that will be my main blog for the school year.
I am going to write an entry for everyday that I am in college, and talk about being a freshman, homework, activities, working, the stress, my relationships, and my daily schedule basically, all depending on what happens each day.
I hope that the few followers I have will continue to follow on my new blog, and maybe even gain a few new followers since now I have a blog with an actual theme.
The first official blog entry for my new blog will be posted this Saturday, and will be titled "Move-In Day".
Thanks!

So Summer is almost over.
I've quit my summer job and The weather is starting to get colder ( Not that it got all that hot to begin with).
And It's been a busy couple of weeks.
This Saturday, I am moving out of my parents house, and next week, on the 8th, I start college, and my new job.
I'm almost all packed up, and this whole thing is a scary thought to me, and it makes me a little sad actually.
I'm sad that I'm not a kid anymore, I can no longer be irresponsible and lazy and get away with it.
I Now have to take care of myself, and I thought I would be more excited, and yes, in some ways, I am, but I don't want to take care of myself, and be responsible, and work a full-time job.
It's crazy how much things are different now that I'm out of highschool already, and it's only been the summer, but I already don't speak to ANY of the people that I was close with at all anymore, everyone else is getting jobs and going to college as well, and what's even crazier, some of my friends are even getting married and having babies! I could never immagine myself getting married or having a child this young, and I don't know any other people from my highschool that will be attending the same college as me. The two people that I am still in contact with, aren't even from highschool, we had went to cosmetology school together, and I'm glad I'm still contact with them, in fact they are both going to the same college as me, and were hoping to become roomates in a few months, so if that actually happens, it will be a big comfort to me.
I remember when I was about ten years old, and I was so anxious and excited for these days to come when I'd be eighteen and getting ready to move out. But now I just wish I was ten again! I feel like it all went by so fast and that everything is all over. I don't want to grow up.
Question for the comments :
What things in your future are you afraid of?
What part of your past do you wish you could have back?

Yesterday was a long day, my parents and I took my nephew to fort rickey :childrens zoo...
I never realized how much a toddler can tire someone out.
On the way home I turned on my ipod and listened to mindless self indulgence til I passed out.
I'ved used the on a tuesday before, but you know what, I never get sick of them, so deal with it and go listen to them!
Anyways..
I got a call from the college I'm attending and they told me that I was hired for the night clerk position!
and also, I get to move into my dorm a day early! I'm pretty excited, but it's gonna be weird spending the firs night in there alone. but at least I'll get first pick of what bed I want and stuff. ^.^

So, today I have been a complete wreck, haha.
I put in my two weeks notice at burger king.
I was so nervous that they would be rude to me or something...
I don't know how it works because all my other jobs were seasonal jobs and I just kinda left them, haha.
I'm actually a little sad to be leaving, I mean, obviously I cannot stay there forever, but I did like it there, I enjoyed the people I worked with, and it just was not a bad summer job...
but, I gotta go to college and move on to bigger and better things, you know?
BUT, some good news, I have an interview at some point this week to be a Night Clerk on my college campus.
I'm not entirely sure yet what this job entails, but when I saw that they needed people, I applied as soon as I could, so I don't know too much about it.

For the comments :
what bands do you love that not a lot a lot of people know about?
Posted by Trisha at 3:50 PM 1 comments

You know what I mean.. when you're walking down the street and you see something that you can't stand, yet it is impossible to look away? It sucks, right!? especially when they notice that you're staring at them and then look at you like your a crazy stalker. ( or maybe they only do that to me!)
1. PDA
I can't stand walking around out in public and seeing a couple who is practically on top of each other in public, making out, groping each other, you know? For one, it's completely trashy, For two, stop it, it's a big slap in the face reminder that I'm alone and am an 18 year old version of a cat lady, and seriously!? Who wants to look at that? You know, once you see them go at it, you have to force yourself out of the area to look away.
2. Girls with permanent wedgies.
What's with the girls who run around with their thongs out of their pants and pulled up so high seriously? why do you do it? IT DOESN'T FEEL GOOD. It just makes everyone stare at their trashy polka-dotted undies, and then their like " ohhh emm geee, don't stare at me you pervert!", because you didn't ask for it or ANYTHING, you're not being a trashy skank at all. ^.-
3. Old Men Who Don 't Know The Wonders Of Belt.
I swear.. Why don't older men know how to use a belt? For real, it does wonders, give it a little try, shall we? I hate seeing old men who go to bend over, and you don't see a little crack, you see the whole damn moon, and sometimes even the ones who you get to see the whole backyard, they aren't even bent over! sheesh.
4. Large Women Who Think They Are Thin.
Okay, I'm not talking about a 10 pound overweight chubby lady.. I'm talking about the women who are verging on like the 300's here, and decide that they want to show it off. Now I have nothing against heavy people, I'm all about choosing your own style no matter what size you are, but can't they be a little classier? They don't need to wear a Bikini, or tight, low rise jeans with a skin tight sphagetti strap tank, you know? they can be stylish and dress for their size... PLEASE!?
5. Skanky Myspace Pictures Of Twelve Year Old Girls.
Okay.. this isn't something you see walking down the street, but it still bothers me..
these 12 year old girls who get practically naked to take some damn myspace pictures.. Seriously.. You're 12.. why!? If you're teachers see that or you're parents, your a dead girl walking. I had a friend in highschool who did that, and her cheerleading coach found the pictures and kicked her off the team, and banned her from ever even trying out again.. It's not good, and if it does things like that, when you're older, it can cause you to lose a job too.. and it sucks when you see these girls in public too, and they are dressed normal, all you can think of is the rediculous pictures of them you saw online that were so trashy, you can't think of them any other way.

This week, ever since the concert I went to in vermont it's been all about the music, so that has a lot to do with what I love this week..
1. Mike Ness. (Picture above)
The lead singer of social distortion. He is one of the most amazing men ever.
His music is amazing, and for being close to 50 years old, that man has it going on, he is so flipping hott, I am in love.
2. All girl rock bands.
At the social distortion concert, a band called The Civet, opened up for them.. they are a gorgeous all girl rock band, and they are amazing, it's very rare that you find a really good all girl band, and it shows that girls can do things just as good as the boys!
3. Mosh Pits.
Seriously.. so fun! have a good time, dance, bump into people, hey? it works for me!
4. Meeting people at concerts.
This is so much fun, and everyone is always super nice because of the similar interests. ^.^
5. Being up front at concerts.
I'm that weird girl who shows up at concerts 6 hours before they start so I can be in the front row... that being said, I was in the front at the social D concert, and when one of the openers was setting up, he kept looking at me, and then I waved at him and he got all flushed and waved back, haha, and I was also like half a foot away from a very sweaty sexy Mike Ness. :]

So, Vermont was AMAZING!
I'd have to say that Social Distortions performance was the best concert I have ever been to.
They played for over 2 and a half hours, and I was within a foot of Mike Ness, and I swear I was drooling all over the place over that amazing man, haha.
it was so worth the 6 hour drive, and the other bands, the strangers, and The Civet ( who are a totally bad ass all chick band) were awesome too..
now I'm just so tired and I have to get up early to go to work tomorrow. :[

I just wanted to say, that my Tuesday tunes post will be a little bit late this week, because tonight I am leaving for Vermont!
I probably won't be back until Wednesday night or so.
I will be going to see Social Distortion in Burlington, Vermont on Tuesday night, then we will be staying in a hotel afterwards and probably leaving to go home first thing in the morning.
sooo. have a good next couple of days, everyone!

This week has been super busy, I've been shopping for college stuff, and one of my friends is in town for the next few days, so I've been hanging out with him and his other friend basically all day, every day, but today I have to calm down and relax a little bit because I have to go back to work tonight. ick!
anyways, what I'm into this week is :
1. Watching boys play Video Games.
Yeah, Lots of girls think that this is boring, but I've been hanging out with these two guys all week, and I actually think it's really funny to watch them get so into it, and have they're victory dances when they win or just about rip out eachothers throats when they lose. :-P
2. Long walks.
I've spent a lot of time being really active and walking around a lot this week, I'm normally really lazy, but I managed to get out a little this week, I walked a mile or so off of the beach trail the other day, and I ended up finding all of these cool old docks people could fish off of or jump off of, and a little further down someone had a big rope tied to a tree so people could swing from it into the water, I'm going to use it at some point before the summer is over.
3. Instant Food.
Haha, I've been so busy this week that I haven't even wanted to eat, so I've been living off of instant soups and tuna, and packaged mini muffins, anddd I Love them.
4. Air Conditioning.
Seriously... It's been so muggy out.. Thank God for Air Conditioning. Enough Said.
5. Geek fests.
This sort of goes along with watching the boys play video games... but there's nothing I love more than being able to just sit and geek out, play video games, read nerdy books, play on Neopets, and play other weird games.

What geeky things do you secretly love to do?

This week has been completely deprived of excitement, let me tell you...
It consisted of sitting on my butt eating those mini packaged muffins, ate entirely too much take out, reading new moon, and watching those awful "made-for-TV" sci-fi movies...
and I happened to meet the loneliest hairdresser on this planet.
I go into the salon, and the woman jumps up the instant I walk in there, acting a little TOO excited, and before I could even manage too tell her what service I wanted, she spent 20 minutes telling me how quiet the salon has been and all the little things she has been doing to keep herself occupied.
Then I finally manage to say "Hey, I just want my eyebrows waxed", so she brings me out to the waxing area, and yes, I'd say I get my eyebrows waxed a lot, and the experience has never lasted any long than 15 minutes at the MOST... Seriously, this woman stretched out an eyebrow waxing for an HOUR, no joke, she spent this hour talking about how angry she is at her boss for giving her the slower shifts, then she told me about her husband and her family, then asked me if I was married and had kids? (Uh hello lady, I'm only 18!) but yeah, that went on for an hour, until I could get her to stop talking and just finish my damn eyebrows. sheesh!
The Tunes this week have been kind of deprived as well, because I only have one band for you this week :
Social Distortion
Very good band, I would suggest that you listen to the songs, "Mommy's little Monster", and "Pretty In Pink", those are MY favorites.
I also happen to be driving all the way to Vermont next Tuesday and spending two days there just to see these fantastic gentlemen, that's why they are the only band I've been listening too!

What are some awkward experiences you've had recently?

I Only have one thing I love for this Thursday, and it is the town of Oswego's Harborfest.
I grew up in this town and in a town as small as this one, this is the best event of all year..
there is concerts, a small carnival, a few streets filled with flea market type vendors, it's such a small town, but people from all over the country travel to this event and I love it.
I went for a few hours today and it was fun, it's nice to walk around and see everything, and I ran into a few old friends that I haven't seen in ages. :]
For The Comments :
What's the best event that goes on in your town?

well. I went shopping today, and I must have been feeling very bright and crazy today, because when I bought my bedspread for college, it was hot pink.
I also bought these hot pink skinnies :

And I also picked up these:
So yeah, that was pretty interesting... I just have NO idea where on earth I'll ever wear these?
Maybe to the Social Distortion Concert I'm going to. :] ( Did I say I'm seeing Social Distortion? I am, on August 4th I'm driving like a million miles to Vermont to see them ^.^)
